US Launches Fourth Round of Airstrikes on Houthi Targets in Yemen, Foiling Missile Attacks

In a striking turn of events, the United States has once again launched a series of attacks on Houthi targets in Yemen, marking the fourth time in less than a week. According to US officials, the airstrikes conducted on Wednesday effectively struck multiple sites that were on the verge of launching missiles, as reported by the Washington Post. According to a statement from US Central Command, an American-owned commercial vessel was targeted by a rebel group earlier today.

The attack involved an anti-ship ballistic missile, resulting in damage to the vessel but fortunately no injuries were reported. According to the AP, the strikes were carried out by the US from ships and submarines in the Red Sea, targeting over a dozen sites. In response to the recent attacks on commercial shipping, the Houthis have claimed that their actions are a form of protest against Israel's offensive in Gaza.

"According to Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder, Pentagon spokesman, there have been reports of attacks on ships and vessels from over 50 countries, with some individuals taking advantage of the situation," stated Ryder during a press conference on Wednesday. "We will persist in collaborating with our regional partners to thwart or discourage future attacks," he emphasized.

In a recent military operation, US and British forces launched a series of strikes on over 60 Houthi targets. These targets included air defenses, command hubs, and facilities used for launching anti-ship cruise and ballistic missiles.
