Police reported that a guy from Brooklyn had hidden a dead corpse inside an apartment building in East Flatbush. Following the discovery of a woman's body outside his residence at 94 Rockaway Pkwy. on Tuesday, Reginald Newkirk, 51, is being charged with concealing a human corpse.

The lady, who is yet unnamed, was found dead in the sixth-floor corridor just after 7 a.m., according to NYPD sources, despite not having any visible wounds. Citing the continuing investigation, the police would not provide any further facts regarding the event and said that the cause of the woman's death was still unknown.

The New York Daily News claims that investigators believe the lady overdosed and died. As of late Wednesday morning, an NYPD official was unable to confirm the lady and Newkirk's connection.

Authorities added that Newkirk was detained on suspicion of tampering with physical evidence and criminal tampering, in addition to the accusation of concealing a human body.

According to court documents, Newkirk has already spent two brief prison terms, one for assault in June 2015 and one for possessing a firearm in August 2021.
