After a Disney Cruise Line employee's ship moored at Port Everglades, a check of his gadgets produced a video of child sexual assault, which prompted Broward Sheriff's Office investigators to arrest him, according to the arrest report. Alvin Gonzales, 49, of Cavite, Philippines, was checked into the BSO Main Jail on Wednesday, according to online records.
According to the arrest report, Gonzales was tipped off to officials with the Internet Crimes Against Children task force, and when the ship—which is not identified in the report—arrived at Port Everglades on January 24, federal officers searched his electronic devices across the border.
The illegal, almost nine-minute video was found during the search, according to authorities. According to the report, it showed a child between the ages of 8 and 10 doing sex activities with a female between the ages of 12 and 14.
According to jail records, Gonzales is being held on an immigration hold in addition to a felony child pornography accusation.
Regarding Gonzales' job status and arrest, Disney Cruise Line issued the following statement on Thursday night, which you can read here: "We will keep assisting law enforcement, and this person (Gonzales) is no longer with the firm."
