The son-in-law and former top advisor to Donald Trump, Jared Kushner, said he would reject Trump's request to take office again in November.
In an interview at the Axios BFD conference in Miami on Tuesday, the former adviser to the Trump administration clarified that, even if Trump wins the 2024 nomination, he is committed to working on his investment firm, Affinity Partners, and not taking on a government position again. He stated that his current commitment is to "investors, to my firm, to my employees, to my partners and that is what I am planning to do."
Kushner told Dan Primack, the business editor of Axios, "I was incredibly fortunate to have a part in the campaign and then join him in the government." "With each together, we accomplished some amazing things." so proud of them. But with the individuals at his disposal, I believe he can assemble an absolutely amazing squad this time.
Kushner claimed to have "liked" his four years in the Trump administration, but he has also enjoyed living in Florida with his family and escaping the limelight.
He said that Trump has the "greatest" staff around him and that his 2024 campaign is well-organized.
In contrast to the 2016 campaign, which he referred to as more of a “family campaign,” Kushner said, “I believe that the team surrounding him is maybe the best he is had.”
According to Kushner, "They are doing a tremendous job." "And I have a suspicion that if he were to retake office, his level of skill and pretense of professionalism would be considerably higher than it was under the last government."
The leader of the Trump administration's Middle East policy, Kushner, said in October of last year that he would support his father-in-law for a further four years because of the way Trump supported the Middle East during his time in the White House.
