A man is taking legal action against Disney, claiming that his wife, a doctor from NYU, passed away due to an allergic reaction.
As per the lawsuit, Dr. Kanokporn Tangsuan, aged 42, dined at Raglan Road restaurant in Disney Springs in October. She informed the waiter about her severe allergies to dairy and nuts, and he assured her that the kitchen would make her food without any allergens.
Nevertheless, the lawsuit claims that she passed away soon after and had increased amounts of dairy and nuts in her system.
The lawsuit is requesting over $50,000 in damages from both Raglan Road and Disney under Florida's Wrongful Death Act.
"We need to provide additional training. Collaboration with the restaurant industry is essential to enhance the training of kitchen staff and wait staff. That way these kinds of things no longer happen," stated Sung Poblete, CEO of Food Allergy Research and Education.
NYU Langone expressed their sorrow over her passing and extended their heartfelt sympathies to her family.
