A 25-year-old student from the University of Colorado - Colorado Springs campus is now in custody on suspicion of killing two individuals in a dormitory room. On Monday morning, Colorado Springs police announced the arrest of Nicholas Jordan.
According to the authorities, the suspect and the victims were acquaintances. Claiming it was "not a random assault on the school or other students at the university," the Colorado Springs Police Department spoke out.
Crestone House in the Alpine Village neighborhood was the scene of a shooting early Friday morning, killing a 24-year-old male and a 26-year-old female. Samuel Knopp, a Parker resident and enrolled UCCS student, and Celie Rain Montgomery, a Pueblo resident, were named over the weekend.
According to Chris Valentine, a spokesperson at UCCS, Jordan is a student there and is from Detroit. Late Friday afternoon, police allegedly acquired an arrest warrant for him on two first-degree murder charges. On Monday morning, he was apprehended by law enforcement in the 4900 block of Cliff Point Circle East. Following a traffic stop, he was brought to the El Paso County Jail. His arrest picture is still unavailable.
