Father and Daughter Arrested for Murder: A Family Affair Unfolds in DeKalb County

Authorities in Lithonia, Georgia, said that on February 28, 2024, after an altercation at Belle Vista Apartments, a father and daughter were taken into custody for shooting and murdering the woman's boyfriend.

According to the police, just before three of the clock in the afternoon, after a fight between the pair, 25-year-old Nina Shaw contacted her father, Royricas Shaw, 47. Following the call, the father went to the apartment building, which is located on the 100 block of Camellia Lane, to speak with the boyfriend of his daughter.

The boyfriend, who is named as 25-year-old Treyvon Vallery, and the father from Georgia got into a fight during their altercation. The father eventually pulled out his gun and attempted to shoot Vallery, but the shot went wide. Pulling out his own gun, Vallery opened fire again, hitting the father in the hip. Then the daughter opened fire on Vallery, striking him many times until he passed away from his wounds.

Officers discovered Vallery deceased and at least shot once when they got to the site. The father's gunshot wounds caused him to arrive at a neighboring hospital shortly after. It was determined that his wounds were not life-threatening. After being detained, the father and daughter were taken to the DeKalb County Jail, where they are now being held on suspicion of intentional murder and are involved in an ongoing legal battle. The father was jailed at least twelve times between 1994 and 1994, according to jail records, on a variety of crimes that included violence, disorderly conduct, and aiding a minor's delinquency.

It is unknown what the three were fighting over, but the boyfriend's family thinks the father and his daughter planned to kill their son by shooting him. Since then, the boyfriend's family and friends have mourned the death of their son or friend by holding a vigil in his honor and keeping a close eye on the case.
