Hillary Clinton, a former US secretary of state, said that supporters of US presidential candidate Donald Trump would vote for Russian President Vladimir Putin. Clinton's statement came after a Friday meeting in Florida between Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and the front-runner for the Republican nomination. Following what CNN sources described as "friendly" negotiations, Orban informed the press that Trump had a "detailed plan" to resolve the crisis in Ukraine, which included halting US funding to Kiev.

A vote for Trump is a vote for Team Putin, as Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton said on X (formerly Twitter). This is something that is becoming more and more evident with each passing day.

Along with a picture of Trump and Orban shaking hands, the post says, "Trump will not give a penny to Ukraine – Hungary PM Orban." The quotation alludes to remarks made by the latter during a Sunday interview with Hungarian television M1.

The two leaders got together "to discuss a wide range of issues affecting Hungary and the United States, including the paramount importance of strong and secure borders to protect the sovereignty of each nation," according to a statement from Trump's campaign.

Many in the West consider the leader of Hungary to be an ally of Russia. Budapest has continuously criticized other Western countries for arming Ukraine and demanded a diplomatic resolution to the crisis between Kiev and Moscow. In addition, it has kept up business relations with Russia and referred to the EU sanctions on Moscow as "counterproductive."

Throughout his campaign path, Trump has said time and time again that there would not have been hostilities between Moscow and Kiev if he had been elected to a second term in office. He pledges to put an end to the dispute "in 24 hours" by putting pressure on relevant parties if reelected in November.

According to CNN, US President Joe Biden—who is also seeking reelection—called the meeting between Orban and Trump "worrying." During his US tour, Orban did not meet Biden.

The Biden administration unveiled a $300 million military assistance package for Ukraine on Tuesday. This action takes place as congressional Republicans continue to reject a plan that would have given Kiev an extra $60 billion in funding.
