In the run-up to the 2024 election, when the incumbent is probably going to face outgoing President Donald Trump, Governor Wes Moore (D-MD) expressed his belief that Black voters would unite behind Biden.

"We are seeing that results matter, and we are watching how people are coming together behind the Biden-Harris ticket," Moore said. "When we consider that this administration has created 14 million new jobs since taking office, they have also had some of the lowest unemployment rates ever documented."

The Biden team may be concerned if claims of declining support turn out to be accurate. Sharpton specifically questioned Moore about black votes.

According to Moore, "I think black support is going to consolidate around the president because the president has always prioritized the support of the black community." "The president has consistently prioritized our interests."

Similar to the president's remarks during the State of the Union on Thursday, Moore, the only elected black governor in the country and only the third in history, claimed that Marylanders had witnessed the benefits of Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris's leadership, citing the Old Line State's low unemployment rate.

Moore, a member of the Biden-Harris 2024 National Advisory Board, joined MSNBC's Al Sharpton at a Biden campaign rally in Atlanta. The two spoke about the president's newly declared backing from three groups that advocate for voters of color: the Latino Victory Fund, The Collective PAC, and the AAPI Victory Fund. Sharpton said that they are giving the president's campaign a total of $30 million.

The governor went on to say that "it should not be lost on anybody" that Biden is holding his first campaign event since that speech in Atlanta, a city where, according to Census statistics, about 48% of people identify as black. He said, "I think people are excited and energized, and we can see why because results matter.""
