Oregon Father Accused of Drugging Girls at Sleepover: Shocking Allegations Unfold

An Oregon father allegedly drugged three girls at a sleepover. As per court documents, Michael Meyden, aged 57, surrendered to authorities following allegations of administering a sleeping drug to three 12-year-old girls during his daughter's sleepover at his Lake Oswego residence in August 2023.

On Wednesday, Meyden entered a plea of not guilty and is facing charges related to causing another individual to consume a controlled substance.

Based on the information provided, he allegedly spiked mango smoothies with benzodiazepine, a medication commonly prescribed for insomnia and panic attacks. According to the court documents, the girls informed the police that they experienced drowsiness and even lost consciousness.

According to reports, Meyden frequently went to the basement where the girls slept. He would observe them sleeping and even checked if one of the girls was asleep by waving his hand in front of her face.

One of the girls recounted how she stayed awake and messaged her mom just before 2 a.m., asking her to pick her up and fabricate a family emergency. I am feeling insecure. If I do not reply, please come and find me. Yes, please. Please answer the call. Yes, please. Please!!”

According to reports, she later reached out to a family acquaintance who then drove her home and alerted her parents.

At approximately 3 a.m., two parents arrived at the house to pick up the remaining girls. According to the documents, Meyden initially hesitated to allow them in, informing the parents that the girls were asleep. After some time, Meyden allowed the parents to enter, and the girls were escorted back to their homes. All three girls were found to have benzodiazepine in their system.
