Former US President Donald Trump has said that US President Joe Biden's State of the Union speech on Thursday night was the "worst... ever made." During his address, the Republican, who will challenge the incumbent in November's presidential election, also charged Biden of "tremendous misrepresentation and lies."

The Democrat constantly attacked Trump during his 68-minute speech, referring to him as “my predecessor” rather than by name. In January 1941, the eighty-one-year-old also raised his voice many times, drawing comparisons to President Franklin Roosevelt.

Trump labeled his political opponent's speech as "angry, polarizing, and hate-filled" and called it a "disgrace to our country" in a series of tweets on his Truth Social platform on Friday.

The front-runner of the Republican Party claims that Biden's "angry" tone is a "trait of those who realize they are "losing it."

Along with rejecting the president's claims that he had "bowed down" to Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Republican did the same. Rather, Trump said that the present president has turned into a “puppet for Putin and Xi, and virtually every other leader”.

During his speech, Biden said he came here to "wake up this Congress," presumably a reference to the Republican-led Congress's refusal to approve his large assistance package, which includes $60 billion for Ukraine. According to the president, his congressional rivals "want us to walk away from our leadership in the world."

The Democrat also addressed the Capitol Hill riots on January 6, 2021, stating that while the "insurrectionists" had been defeated, "the threat remains and democracy must be defended." Trump and other Republicans, according to Biden, are trying to "bury the truth" about those incidents.

"When you get to my age, certain things become clearer than ever before," the incumbent attempted to portray his advanced age as a benefit in the face of widespread worries about his age and suitability for the position.

Trump won 14 of the 15 states that were up for grabs at this week's Super Tuesday elections, earning 995 delegates to the Republican convention. Shortly thereafter, his lone rival for the GOP candidacy, Nikki Haley, withdrew from the contest.
