Tucker Carlson said that he had a habit of being "a dick" and gave NewsNation host Chris Cuomo an explanation on Monday for why he had been so cruel to him on his previous Fox News program.
Cuomo brought up Carlson's earlier criticism of him when he was a CNN anchor during an appearance on the Tucker Carlson Network, saying, "I still want to know why you came after me as much as you did."
Carlson said, "'Cause I am a dick, probably," before chuckling. Carlson had earlier made fun of Cuomo's firing from CNN and referred to him as "the single dumbest person ever to perform on cable news."
"Because it was simple, and I genuinely dislike CNN," he said.
"But why me?" Cuomo asked.
"I am not sure," Carlson said.
Cuomo said, "How can you not know? " after that. "I was pissed about the Covid thing, that is totally true. I didn’t buy any of this from day one, that was totally real. But thats not– what I did was not really a pure refutation of your positions on Covid. It was me taking the cheap shots, which I’m not always above, and– but you should be. You should be above them," Carson explained.
Cuomo pushed, "Did it feel good when you would come after me like that?" Carlson said, "Felt a little dirty."
"I do not want to use any sexual metaphor, but there is one for this," the former Fox News presenter said. Although it is something you should not do, there is an animal pleasure associated with breaking the law.
Cuomo said, "My in-laws keep an eye on you." Do you have any idea how difficult it can be to put up with your in-laws making jokes that make you want to do horrible things that will end up costing you money in a civil lawsuit?
"I will say that I have weaknesses," Carlson said in closing. I stopped up drinking a long time ago, so I do not have a weakness for ladies, but I still struggle with weaknesses of the body, and ridicule is one of them.
