One charge of attempted child sex exploitation and one count of possessing pictures of child sex abuse that showed a prepubescent youngster were brought against Thompson. In January 2024, Thompson was detained and accused in Lynchburg, Virginia. Since then, he has been detained by the feds.

A maximum term of 20 years in jail may result from owning photos of a prepubescent juvenile having sexual relations with another person.
