Fatal Road Rage: 26-Year-Old Woman Killed in Massachusetts Incident

A 26-year-old woman died after a claimed case of road rage got worse in Massachusetts. As of now, the Middlesex County District Attorney's Office thinks that Ryan Sweatt, 36, was driving a Honda Civic on Route 85 on Thursday night when he supposedly got into a fight with another driver out of anger.

Police say Sweatt told them that several people got out of the car at a crossroads and threatened his life, with one holding a knife. According to the police, Sweatt then turned around and hit a woman.

Family members say Destini Decoff died Saturday afternoon from the injuries she got during surgery the day before, according to NBC News. Reports WCVB say that prosecutors told the judge on Friday that she had "major internal injuries," including "extensive facial trauma" and "both legs were likely broken."

As of Friday, Sweatt was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous tool causing major physical harm, operating to endanger, and driving in marked lines. As of Monday morning, a GoFundMe effort to pay for her burial costs had raised $10,000.
