Five years after going missing from his Tucson home, Cindy and Jeff Hall have reunited with Luke, a lost Russian Blue cat.
When Luke was a kitten, Cindy and Jeff Hall took him from the Pawsitively Cats shelter twelve years ago. Luke was a beloved family member for seven years until the terrible day he slipped out and never came back. Luke was gone for years despite their best attempts, which included putting out fliers and combing their area. The Halls eventually relocated to Nevada, where they continued to hold out hope for the possibility of never seeing their cherished cat again.
But destiny had other ideas. More than 1,200 miles from Luke's Tucson home, in a Brinkley, Arkansas, petrol station, Pawsitively Cats got an unexpected call last month alerting them to his whereabouts. With the amazing news that their long-lost cat was not only alive but had been located, the shelter got in touch with Cindy and Jeff right away.
Organizing Luke's return trip home was no easy task. Luke made it safely returned to his rightful owners when Alone 2 Home, a volunteer transportation organization, took over and drove the 19-hour trip from Arkansas to Tucson.
Pawsitively Cats reflected on Luke's incredible trip and shared their ideas on social media. "Whoa! It would make for an amazing narrative if Luke could explain to us how he ended up so far away from home, they wrote.
