Police in Houston say a teacher hired difficult students to work as prostitutes for her son and paid them for their services. The teacher has been charged with child sex trafficking and prostitution.

Kedria Grigsby, 42, was arrested on Monday (April 8), according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez. Grigsby used to teach hairdressing at Klein Cain High School. The former teacher in Houston is now being charged with several felonies, including sex trafficking and forcing minors to be prostitutes. It was said that Grigsby's son, Roger Magee, 22, was caught in November 2022 on charges of sex trading and prostitution and is still in jail.

Tuesday, April 9, Grigsby did not show up to court, but she was given a $750,000 bond, which is $125,000 for each of her six charges.

Authorities from Klein ISD said in an email that the Houston teacher was hired for the 2019-2020 school year after "passing a state background check at that time." The upcoming arrest of the Houston teacher was reported to the district by the Harris County Sheriff's Office. Grigsby was then "relieved of her teaching duties," and parents were sent a letter later that same day to let them know.

It said in the letter, "As soon as we were told this, the district acted right away, caught Ms. Grigsby, and put her on administrative leave right away." Klein ISD has no plans to let this person back into Klein Cain or any other Klein ISD school. When the review is over, we will report this to all the right authorities.

After the school sent out its email message, Sheriff Gonzalez gave more information about X (formerly Twitter). He said the victims were three teens: a 15-year-old, a 16-year-old, and a 17-year-old. All three were said to be troublesome students who had run away.

In his statement, the Sheriff said, "It looks like Grigsby got troubled teens from nearby high schools by offering them a hotel room." More teens who have been victims say that Grigsby was also trying to join them while they were at school.

According to the Sheriff, the former Houston teacher also hired her own kids and worked with her son in what they called a "prostitution enterprise." Investigators found text messages that Grigsby allegedly sent and received with her son and three other women, in which he reportedly talked about paying "prostitution fees" and how the money would be sent.

Furthermore, authorities say that Grigsby paid for at least one hotel room. When a police officer went inside to investigate, one of the victims walked in and then quickly ran back outside to get into Grigsby's car and leave the scene of the crime. The Trafficking Unit at the Harris County Sheriff's Office is looking into this scenario. Those in charge of the case say they expect more victims to come forward and more charges to be brought.

It is also said that the former Houston teacher was allowed to keep teaching at the school even though she had been accused of major trafficking charges in the past. When community organizers made the claims, Klein ISD rejected them and said they immediately told the Sheriff's Office when they got the first report.

Crystal Ceballos, Klein ISD's Director of Communications, said, "Once more, the information that Quanell X and Candace Matthews shared is completely false." In fact, someone told us that in February 2023, she made a report in Harris County about former employee Keidra Grigsby. Keidra Grigsby was not a suspect, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, which was called right away by the Klein ISD Police Department with the case number given by the person.

"The next time we heard anything about Keidra Grigsby was this Monday, when the Sheriff's Office called our police department to talk about pending charges," the statement said. Immediately, the Klein Police Department caught Keidra Grigsby and helped the Sheriff's Office arrest her. Again, any behavior that hurts children is unacceptable, and we will always work with our many law enforcement partners to make sure that those responsible are caught.
