Warner Bros. posted the video for the much-anticipated sequel to The Joker on Tuesday night, and YouTube quickly removed it because of inappropriate material. Until Wednesday afternoon, the warning said, "The following content may contain suicidal or self-harm related topics." Viewers should use their own judgment. People had to click a button to say they understood the warning before they could watch the trailer for Joker: Folie à Deux. Range of sources say the warning might have been given because of a scene where Lady Gaga's character Harley Quinn faked shooting herself in the head with a finger gun.
A YouTube representative told Variety, "We found that our systems applied the warning interstitial incorrectly." The video is still available on YouTube without the warning. The Guardian claims that Joaquin Phoenix will play the Joker again in the film, which comes out on Oct. 4, five years after the first movie. A source told Variety last month that the sequel is "mostly a jukebox musical" with new versions of 15 "very well-known" songs. The clip plays "What the World Needs Now Is Love," one of them.
