Quincy Police Department Captain Daniel Guarente told ABC that investigators believed Lee was in California and may have been in contact with family. This prompted a targeted search in Diablo, which saw Lee's arrest following surveillance of the home and vehicle. Lee provided the name Randy Lee without having any identification on him.
Lee was first identified as the masked intruder who broke into a waitress's house on February 2, 2005, and sexually raped her.
