After Reported Suicide Attempt, 57-Year-Old Ordered to Wear GPS after Alleged Drugging Incident at Sleepover

Michael Meyden, a 57-year-old man from Lake Oswego, has been ordered to wear a GPS tracking device following a request from Clackamas County District Attorney John Wentworth. Meyden was allegedly involved in drugging 12-year-old girls at their daughter's sleepover, where he encouraged them to drink mango smoothies with color-coded straws.

Some of the girls noticed a white powder in the smoothies but continued to drink them, despite Meyden's push. One girl, who consumed only a small amount, pretended to be asleep, while another drank two smoothies. Meyden is accused of checking in to confirm their sleep and moving the girl who consumed two smoothies away from the one who barely drank. The 12-year-old later texted her mother to be picked up.

A test at a children's hospital found them exposed to Temazepam, a schedule-four drug used to treat insomnia. Meyden admitted to making the smoothies but denied adding any drugs. However, a lab test found Temazepam on the straws. Investigators also found dozens of bottles of the drugs in Meyden's house, each prescribed to him.

Meyden was indicted on three counts of causing another person to ingest a controlled substance, three counts of application of a schedule-four controlled substance to another person, and three counts of unlawful delivery of a schedule-four controlled substance to a minor.
