A poll of 2,000 Americans by Talker Research on behalf of Study Finds has revealed that Denzel Washington is the celebrity Americans would most like to see run for president. The survey found that 15% of Americans would love to see Washington run for office, followed by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson at 15%. Tom Hanks (12%), Clint Eastwood (10%), George Clooney (10%), and Oprah (9%) were the last three celebrities. Jake and Logan Paul earned just 2% of the vote. However, over a third of the respondents were interested in voting for none of the celebrities.
The poll also revealed that 28% of Americans are somewhat more likely to vote for a celebrity they like if they ran for president, with 13% saying they are "much more likely." However, 52% said it wouldn't affect their vote at all, and 21% said it would even make them less likely. Only 17% of the respondents believed "fame" is an important requisite for running for office, with 73% believing it's not important. Social media presence and influence were not a factor either, with only 21% feeling more inclined to vote for a candidate with a large social media following.
