San Diego Police Officer's Mishap: Accidentally Locked in Backseat with Woman for Over an Hour

San Diego police officer Anthony Hair resigned after accidentally locking himself in the back of his car with a female detainee and not calling for help for 20 minutes. The incident occurred in August 2023, after the suspect had propositioned him for sex. Hair was arrested outside a convenience store on suspicion of car theft with one other person. After her arrest, Hair took her to police headquarters and later to the Las Colinas Detention Center for questioning.

In the footage released by SDPD, the suspect was heard asking the officer for sex and whether he was married. Hair stopped her from saying that she was "down to f***" before he stopped her. As they approached the detention center, Hair called a fellow officer to help them, who was embarrassed by the situation. Hair reported to police that he was helping the woman after she believed she was suffering from a medical emergency.

Both Hair and the suspect deny anything happened in the back of the vehicle, but traces of semen were found on the officer's belt. The suspect said that he wanted to get with him when he was done with the warrant or whatever he got arrested for. It is unclear if Hair faces any criminal charges over the incident.
