91-Year-Old Canadian Auto Parts Billionaire Charged With Multiple Sexual Assault Charges That Span 50 Years

After Canadian police made an announcement on June 8 regarding auto parts billionaire Frank Stronach facing sexual assault charges in connection with encounters involving three women, they urged any other potential victims to step forward. According to a report by CBC News on Wednesday, the 91-year-old founder of Magna International is facing eight new charges as announced by Ontario's Peel Regional Police. Stronach faced charges of rape and indecent assault from a July 1980 incident with a woman in Toronto.

He also faced charges of sexual assault and forcible confinement from a February 1986 incident with another woman in Toronto. Additionally, he was charged with sexual assault from an April 2023 incident with a third woman in Aurora, located 30 miles north of Toronto.

Stronach, who was previously arrested on June 7, has been apprehended once more. This time, he faces six additional charges of sexual assault, along with one count of attempted rape and one count of indecent assault on a female, according to the Canadian Press. Although the police have not provided much information about the latest charges, PRP Constable Tyler Bell-Morena has confirmed that more victims have been identified. "Mr. Stronach firmly denies these additional allegations from 1977 and is prepared to vigorously defend himself," stated Stronach's lawyer, Brian Greenspan, according to the AP. He mentioned that his client, who is a member of prestigious organizations and has received notable recognition, has dedicated his entire life to improving the Canadian community and industry.

According to a statement from Magna International, Stronach and the company went their separate ways in 2010. The Stronach Group, a horse-racing company founded by Stronach and currently led by his daughter, stated that the billionaire has not been actively involved with the company for quite some time. Stronach International, a company established by Stronach with a strong emphasis on organic foods and zero-emission transportation, did not provide a response when contacted for comment, according to the CBC.

Authorities have chosen not to disclose the number of additional victims that have been identified. Shortly after the June 8 press conference where the initial charges against Stronach were announced, police received a report from an alleged victim. However, it is uncertain if this report contributed to any of the new charges, according to the CBC.
