The U.S. government is alarmed by Russian President Vladimir Putin's recent visit to North Korea. Pentagon spokesperson Pat Ryder emphasized the implications of the deepening ties between North Korea and Russia at a Washington briefing. Concerns are raised over the impact on peace in the Korean Peninsula and Ukrainian resistance to Russian aggression.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre highlighted how North Korea's weapon deliveries to Ukraine have bolstered Russia's military actions in the region. She condemned any support that aids Putin's aggressive tactics in Ukraine, underscoring the violation of the UN Charter and global order.

To counter Russia's nuclear developments, North Korea is reportedly supporting Russia's foes, as per Western Ukraine supporters. Despite denials from Moscow and Pyongyang, allegations persist. During Putin's visit to Pyongyang, Kim Jong Un welcomed him, with analysts predicting a focus on military sales to fund Ukraine's conflict during the two-day visit.
