Texas Elementary Teacher's Explicit Videos Shared Online Without Consent By Ex-Boyfriend; Filmed in School Classroom

An elementary school teacher in Houston, Texas, has been accused of recording pornographic movies while working. The teacher, who is not facing any criminal charges, has been accused of explicit behavior in the school bathroom and classroom.

The case has sparked an investigation by the Lamar Consolidated Independent School District, despite the teacher's not being charged. The teacher, who is still unnamed, claims to have acted with poor judgment and would not do it again. The recordings were taken in a quiet lavatory on a Sunday or a weekday, and were shared with her ex-boyfriend, who she had a traumatic split with. Legal scholar Carmen Roe suggests that the former teacher's actions could have been immoral but not always illegal.

The state's "revenge porn" legislation might not apply to anyone who posts the recordings online or in any other way.

The former educator expressed her hope that her career and reputation will not be irreparably damaged after resigning from the Lamar Consolidated Independent School District at the end of the academic year for unrelated reasons. She expressed her hope that she can learn from this situation.
