Bill Maher Slams Biden's Immigration Order as Political Maneuver

Comedian Bill Maher criticized President Joe Biden's immigration executive order, arguing that it is an attempt to improve his chances of reelection. Maher stated that the order will not satisfy anyone and that the immigration issue is a significant obstacle for Biden's reelection.

He also pointed out that Biden previously claimed he couldn't do much about immigration but is now issuing an executive order, similar to one that was rejected for former President Trump. Maher sarcastically compared Biden's plan to Uber's surge pricing, saying it is a strange and ineffective approach.

Biden's executive order would halt new asylum petitions if the weekly average of migrants crossing into the US reaches 2,500. The border would automatically close if the number exceeds 2,500. However, once the number drops below 1,500, the regular asylum processes would resume. Maher criticized the plan, stating that it appears Biden has done nothing and that it is his last chance for a Hail Mary pass in the race. He also mentioned that Biden attempted to pass immigration reform through Congress, but Republicans obstructed the process.

Since Biden's presidency began, there have been over six million interactions at the southern border. The executive order announcement drew criticism from both Democrats and Republicans. Maher emphasized that the immigration issue is a major factor that could contribute to Biden's potential failure in the election. He believes that Biden's age and his handling of immigration are the two main reasons why people may dislike him and not support his reelection.
