ABC News and Martha Raddatz's Shameful Bias Against Trump: Dangerous Journalism at its Worst

It's absolutely astonishing, the blatant bias that Martha Raddatz and ABC News displayed on "This Week". Here we have a situation where the former president, Donald Trump, was targeted in an attempted assassination, and what does ABC focus on? They zero in on so-called divisive rhetoric from the right while conveniently glossing over any divisiveness coming from the left. George Stephanopoulos sets the stage with talk of division, and Raddatz takes it from there—not missing a beat to suggest that somehow Trump had it coming with his response to the attack. The insinuation that Trump's instinctual reaction is to blame for inciting violence is not just irresponsible journalism; it's downright dangerous.

But wait, there's more. While they're quick to cast doubt on Republican calls for unity as insincere, they leap to defend Biden against any suggestion that his own rhetoric could be divisive or even incite violence. It's as if they've decided no evidence is needed when it comes to pointing fingers at Republicans, but Democrats? Oh, they get a free pass. According to Raddatz and her team, Democrats are apparently above reproach.

And then there's Stephanopoulos' question about whether Trump and his supporters have contributed to violent rhetoric "as well". As well? When did they ever establish anyone else contributing in the first place? This kind of journalistic sleight of hand would be laughable if it weren't so blatantly biased. The report wraps up without a single mention of any Democrat who might need to tone down their rhetoric—no quotes from Democrats whatsoever—even though history has shown both sides can be culpable.

The entire segment was nothing short than a master class in partisan reporting—a textbook example of how mainstream media outlets like ABC use their platform not just to report news but to shape it according to their biases. What happened to objectivity? What happened to holding all sides accountable? If you thought journalism was about unbiased reporting, think again. It seems ABC News has decided its role is not just to inform but to influence—to push a narrative that fits their agenda, facts be damned.

So here we are, living in an era where media bias isn't just evident; it's egregious. And reports like this one from Martha Raddatz aren't just disappointing; they're infuriating. It's time for media outlets to remember their duty is not to political ideologies but to the truth—to all aspects of it, not just the parts that suit them. But until then, we're left with reports like this: ones that fan the flames of division while pretending to lament it. Shameful doesn't even begin to cover it.
