Florida Man Arrested for Threatening Trump, Vance on Social Media - Police Take Action

A man from Florida has been detained following allegations of issuing threats on social media against former President Donald Trump, U.S. Senator JD Vance, and their families, according to the Jupiter Police Department. Michael W. Wiseman was apprehended on Friday by local law enforcement officials on charges pertaining to making written death threats. His arrest occurred peacefully and he was subsequently placed in the Palm Beach County Jail, detailed Jupiter police Major Don Hennessy.

The arrest took place after Wiseman reportedly posted multiple threatening messages on Facebook directed at Trump and Vance shortly after they were announced as the Republican candidates for president and vice president. The nature of these threats involved potential physical harm not just towards the political figures themselves but also targeted their family members. These alarming posts prompted several individuals to report them to the authorities through both direct and online channels.

Located approximately 20 miles north of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, the town of Jupiter became the focal point for this investigation, which saw collaboration between local police, the U.S. Secret Service, and the Palm Beach County State Attorney’s Office.

At this time, information regarding Wiseman’s legal representation or any statements from an attorney on his behalf remains unavailable. The case continues to draw attention as it involves high-profile political figures and highlights issues surrounding online threats and security measures for public officials.
