In a narrative that could have been ripped from the darkest crime fiction, Matthew Perry's live-in assistant has admitted to supplying the "Friends" star with ketamine, ultimately leading to his untimely demise. The announcement came from prosecutors on Thursday, casting a somber shadow over Hollywood. The assistant, identified as Kenny Iwamasa, now stares down the possibility of a 15-year sentence behind bars. But this story does not end with just one individual; it spirals out into a complex web involving four additional suspects, among them a Los Angeles doctor accused of being the source of the fatal substance.

The revelation came to light when the Department of Justice disclosed that on October 28, 2023—the day Perry was found dead—Iwamasa administered multiple doses of ketamine to him. Despite lacking any medical qualifications, Iwamasa had taken upon himself to inject Perry with this powerful drug repeatedly. This confession was part of a guilty plea made on August 7 for conspiracy to distribute ketamine resulting in death.

Diving deeper into this murky affair, authorities have also charged Jasveen Sangha—infamously known as North Hollywood's 'Ketamine Queen'—alongside Salvador Plasencia, a Santa Monica practitioner; Eric Fleming of Hawthorne; and Dr. Mark Chavez from San Diego. A series of incriminating text messages between Plasencia and Chavez were unearthed by police, showcasing their cavalier attitude towards selling ketamine to Perry with remarks about exploiting his financial resources.

Plasencia is now facing charges for his role in conspiring to distribute ketamine. Meanwhile, Sangha is entangled in an array of charges including operating a drug-involved premises and possession with intent to distribute both methamphetamine and ketamine among others. Fleming has already pleaded guilty to distributing the ketamine that claimed Perry's life after obtaining it from Sangha just days before the tragic incident occurred.

Dr. Chavez is preparing to plead guilty for his involvement in the distribution network as well. He admitted to procuring ketamine through deceitful means such as falsifying claims and using counterfeit prescriptions under an unwitting patient's name.

Adding a layer of tragedy and mystery is Perry's living situation leading up to his death. He resided in a Beverly Hills sanctuary alongside Iwamasa until mere weeks before his passing—a detail unveiled by DailyMail.com following an investigation into Perry's final days. It was reported that Iwamasa may have discovered Perry lifeless in the hot tub at his recently renovated house on that fateful day in October.

Perry had been leasing a lavish three-bedroom home perched above Beverly Hills while awaiting renovations on his $6 million Pacific Palisades property—a place he shared with Iwamasa who had been managing his personal affairs for over two decades. The landlord referred to Iwamasa as someone tasked with monitoring Perry closely—an arrangement underscored by exclusive photographs showing Iwamasa attending daily errands with or for Perry around Los Angeles.

Only weeks prior to being found dead by what is believed to be his personal assistant, Perry had moved back into his Pacific Palisades residence—a move marked by hope but tragically cut short under circumstances that have since shocked and saddened fans across the globe.
