In July, Vice President Kamala Harris achieved a remarkable fundraising milestone, amassing $310 million. This surge in contributions has bolstered her campaign's finances to $377 million as the political battle intensifies ahead of the fall elections. The significant financial backing follows President Joe Biden's endorsement of Harris as the Democratic nominee for the 2024 election, a move that sparked a wave of support exceeding the fundraising efforts of both Biden in previous months and former President Donald Trump's recent endeavors. Trump managed to raise $139 million in July, marking his campaign's total at $327 million.

This fundraising success places the Democrats in an unprecedented position, having accumulated over $1 billion this election cycle—a record pace for presidential campaigns. A noteworthy aspect of Harris's July fundraising is the high percentage of first-time donors, with two-thirds new contributors and most donations being under $200, suggesting room for further contributions within this election cycle.

The campaign also highlighted a significant uptick in engagement from younger generations and women, with a substantial increase in Gen Z and millennial donors compared to June. Special interest groups have been instrumental in rallying support, with organizations such as Black Women for Harris and Latinas for Harris contributing significantly to the funds raised.

Julie Chavez Rodriguez, Harris’s campaign manager, emphasized the growing momentum and dedication within Harris’s supporter base. The campaign has seen an influx of over 170,000 volunteers and hosted thousands of events across key battleground states.

Contrastingly, Trump's campaign reported raising $138.7 million in July. Despite this substantial amount, it falls short when compared to Harris’s record-breaking figures. The Trump team remains optimistic about their financial standing and its implications for the final stretch towards Election Day.

Previously overshadowed fundraising efforts by Biden against Trump have now taken a turn with Harris at the forefront of the Democratic campaign. Her ability to draw large crowds was evident at a rally in Georgia State University’s Convocation Center, which attracted 10,000 attendees—the largest gathering for a Democratic event this season.

As November approaches, both campaigns are gearing up for what promises to be a closely contested election. With both sides emphasizing their readiness and commitment to securing victory through strategic investments and grassroots mobilization efforts.
