The newest tactic used by climate activists to draw attention to their cause is to splash milk all over department stores. As staff and customers watched, members of the animal rights and climate change organization, Animal Rebellion broke into Fortnum & Mason and Selfridges in the UK and threw milk and other items on the floor.

Animal Rebellion posted a video along with the statement: “Two supporters of Animal Rebellion have just poured dairy in high-end department shops, @Selfridges and @Fortnums asking for a shift to a #PlantBasedFuture.” Security is seen hauling two protestors out following their messy demonstration in the video.

What justifications exist for nonviolent action in leadership? TalkTV tweeted after airing the incident’s video.

“We can think of a handful, including the Indian Independence struggle, the Suffragettes, and the Civil Rights movement.” Animal Rebellion sent a reply.

The demonstrators, according to the organization, stole the milk from store shelves that they emptied out. Steve Bone and Sofia Fernandes Pontes were the two demonstrators.

“I don’t want my kids to grow up in a world where there is famine, environmental degradation, and drought. In a statement endorsing a “plant-based future,” Fernando Pontes stated, “I want them to witness a planet rich of biodiversity and beauty.

The group described the two as having “emptied bottles of milk over the floor of the food hall to emphasize the need to transition to a plant-based food system and a sustainable means of feeding the earth, without exploitation of animals.”

If the idea of throwing milk away doesn’t appeal to you, Animal Rebellion also reported on a Saturday demonstration in which participants painted red on Farlows, a hunting and fishing store in London’s West End.

The demonstrations are a component of broader anti-climate rallies that took place over the weekend in London’s Green Park.
