Despite acknowledging that the midterm election results were “slightly disappointing,” former President Trump tried to exude an optimistic attitude on Wednesday by calling them a “very huge triumph.”

Even while there were some aspects of yesterday’s election that were somewhat depressing, in my opinion, it was a very significant triumph (219 WINS and 16 LOSSES in the General). Who has ever performed that better? In a post on his Truth Social website, Trump stated.

Early on Wednesday morning, the former president struck an even more arrogant note on his social media site.

“174 wins and 9 loses, A GREAT EVENING, and the Fake News Media, along with its accomplice, the Democrats, are trying to downplay it in any way they can. He wrote, “Amazing job by some very fantastic applicants.

Republicans are recognizing that their projected red wave is more likely to be a red ripple given that it has only been a little over 24 hours after polls closed and many results are still being counted. During Tuesday’s elections, at least one of their House incumbents in crucial toss-up races was eliminated, while vulnerable Democrats like Reps. Abigail Spanberger (D-VA) and Frank Mrvan (D-IN) managed to stay alive and win reelection.

The GOP failed to capture any of their highly sought congressional seats, including the 2nd Congressional District in Rhode Island. The election, which was declared at 11 p.m. ET, served as one of the first indications of problems for Republicans in the lower chamber.

Republicans also suffered a setback in Pennsylvania when Republican Mehmet Oz, for whom Trump had campaigned and praised him, was defeated by Democrat John Fetterman in the fight for Sen. Pat Toomey’s (R-Pa.) open seat.
