It was only a matter of time before worlds collided, and with the latest poll results showing that 56.8% of people now believe that Joe Biden’s speech in Philadelphia on Thursday, in which he repeatedly criticized MAGA supporters as being undemocratic and radical, indicates a hazardous escalation in rhetoric and is intended to sow discord among Americans.

While opinions on the speech are divided along political party lines, 62.4% of Independent voters concurred with the majority that it increased the heated language and would cause discord among Americans, only 7.7% of American voters were unsure, and only 35.5% thought Biden’s speech was “appropriate” campaign rhetoric for an election year. These are a few of the findings from a nationwide poll of voters conducted following the speech by Convention of States Action in collaboration with The Trafalgar Group.

According to the survey, 89.1% of Republican voters feel the speech was harmful language intended to stir up strife among Americans, compared to 18.7% of Democratic respondents. Furthermore, according to 70.8% of Democrats, his speech was appropriate campaign rhetoric.

According to NPR, the president referred to the approaching elections as a struggle for the soul of the country when speaking in Philadelphia. Marines in uniform were on either side of him.

In reference to former president Donald Trump’s campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again,” he continued by charging that so-called “MAGA Republicans” were determined to thwart “the will of the people,” refusing to acknowledge free and fair elections, and frequently mentioning violence in response to actions they didn’t like.

There is no denying that Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans currently control, influence, and intimidate the Republican Party. And that poses a threat to this nation, according to Biden. “Too much of what’s going on in our nation right now is abnormal. Extremism that imperils the fundamental basis of our nation is represented by Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans.

“We’ve reassured ourselves that American democracy is secure for a very long time. Though it isn’t. We must stand up for it. Guard it. Fight for it. Every single one of us. The speech was “the most vile, hateful and divisive speech ever made by an American president,” according to Trump in reaction.

With all due respect, Mr. President, there is nothing wrong with America’s soul, tweeted Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.). Your policies are affecting the people of America.

Biden “attacked” Republicans, according to Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), in order to “divert attention from the reality that his economic program drove inflation to hit a historic 40-year high and sent our economy into a recession.”

We are living in terrible times, according to voters who tell you they believe a sitting president of the United States’ prepared words were intended to escalate the situation and cause war, according to Convention of States President Mark Meckler. The fact that a sizable majority of Democrats believe this was just an ordinary campaign speech during an election year may be even more scary.

Over 1,000 potential voters in the 2022 election participated in surveys from September 2 to September 5, according to the results of the Convention of States Action poll.

According to Convention of States Action, it has a grassroots network with more than 5 million volunteers and supporters. Its goal is “to curb federal encroachment and restore a culture of self-governance in America.”
