Sen. Mike Lee, from Utah, was in a hearing on Tuesday where U.S. Secret Service acting director Ronald Rowe and FBI deputy director Paul Abbate discussed the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump.
Lee asked why Trump was allowed on stage when there were reports of a potential threat.
Rowe explained that the person was only seen as suspicious at that time, with no mention of a weapon. He added that there were several reports of suspicious individuals that day.
