A 13-year-old girl from the Dallas area who had been missing for more than a week was reportedly found Friday, more than 1,000 miles away, confined in a shed in Davidson County, North Carolina. The teen was discovered in Lexington, North Carolina, about an hour north of Charlotte, Dallas police told WFAA.
The adolescent met her alleged kidnapper, Jorge Camacho, online before meeting him in person near some apartments off Highland Road, according to North Carolina authorities on Monday. According to an arrest warrant, Camacho is charged with eight felonies, including rape, engaging in indecent acts with a child, and human trafficking. He is incarcerated on a bond of over $1 million.
Monday at 2 p.m. was the scheduled time for his initial court appearance.
